Asbestos Air Monitoring Christchurch & Wellington
- BACKGROUND AIR MONITORING
- REASSURANCE AIR MONITORING
- PERSONAL EXPOSURE AIR MONITORING
- CLEARANCE AIR MONITORING
We use advanced air sampling equipment and techniques. Our skilled technical staff in lab and field hold the W504 qualification. EIAG can provide a number of Air Monitoring Services with same-day results. Air sampling pumps draw air through a filter. The filter is mounted on a slide, and phase contrast microscopy is used to determine the fibre concentration per-millilitre of air sampled.
BACKGROUND AIR MONITORING
Background Air Monitoring is conducted during Asbestos Removal work. It provides removal companies an assurance that their work methods are correct and no fibres are being released into the environment. This offers people within the surrounding areas reassurance of their safety.
REASSURANCE AIR MONITORING
Reassurance Air Monitoring can be conducted post-removal work, or in areas surrounding removal work to ensure the air is free of asbestos fibres and safe to occupy.
PERSONAL EXPOSURE AIR MONITORING
Removalists are at the highest risk of exposure, yet providing their work methods are safe and they are wearing the appropriate protective respiratory equipment and clothing, they are safe. In order to gauge a representation of the concentration of asbestos a person is working in, an Exposure Monitoring procedure is conducted. It involves sampling the air within their breathing zone during work. The results of such monitoring aid in determining the safe level of respiratory protection one needs.
CLEARANCE AIR MONITORING
Following Asbestos Removal, the air within an enclosure must meet a specific detection limit in order for it to be safe for reoccupation. Clearance Air Monitoring is the sampling of a specific volume of air which is analysed and must meet the lower detection limit of 0.01 fibres per millilitre of air before the enclosure can be dismantled.
